Human Resources Development Division
The functions of the Division include provision of strategic planning in human resource management for the University. The Division is also responsible for;
- administering Conditions of Service of staff
- coordinating the development and implementation of human resource policies of the University
- provision of policy options on human resource-related issues through the Registrar for the consideration of appropriate committees by submitting papers and memoranda
- forecasting and facilitating staff recruitment and establishments for the University
- serving as a liaison with GUSSS in the administration of pensions
- keeping accurate and up to date staff records
- validation of certificates and other educational qualifications submitted by applicants seeking for appointment in the University
- ensuring the timely renewal and termination of employment contracts
- instituting and maintaining a system to monitor and evaluate staff performance
- facilitating the processes for staff appointments and promotions
- managing and advising on the collective bargaining processes and agreements with unionised staff
- instituting a system for continuing education and in-service training for all employees of the University
- servicing the University Appointments and Promotions Committee (UAPC)
among other duties that may be assigned by the Registrar.
The Division has six (6) sections as follows:
- Senior Member Schedule;
- Staff Training and Development;
- Senior Staff Schedule;
- Junior Staff Schedule;
- Welfare Services; and
- GUSSS Secretariat.
