GAUA holds PR Workshop for Senior Administrative Members of Public Universities
To build and improve the public relations capacities of Senior Member University Administrators, the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) with support from the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) has organised a 2-day workshop for its members in some public universities.
The event which was held at the Great Hall Conference Room of KNUST on the 14th and 15th November, 2019, treated topics on Public Relations Planning and Strategies, Internal Communication strategies in a University Context, Crisis Management and Effective Stakeholder Engagement in Higher Education.
Opening the workshop, the National President of GAUA, Mr. Kwame Yeboah Jnr., commended the IPR for signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which facilitates the organisation of capacity building workshops for GAUA members for a year. According to him, it could have cost each member a lot of money to benefit from such workshops. He therefore called on the participants to make a good use of the opportunity.
According to Mr Yeboah, the topics chosen for the workshop are apt, as they expose participants to the challenges and proffer solutions to issues that confront them in the day-to-day management of their various institutions.
Mr. Solomon Panford (Esq), the Registrar of University of Natural Resources and Energy (UNER) and Mr. Paul Ansah, the Former Director-General of Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority were the facilitators of the two-day workshop.
GAUA Members from the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), University of Development Studies (UDS) and the University of Education Winneba (UEW) participated in the workshop.
