College Registrar, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources

Mr. Charles Asamoah-Boateng was born on February 19, 1967 at Brodekwano, Bosomtwe District, Ashanti Region to the late Mr. Kwame Asamoah and Mad. Janet Darkwa. He started his basic education in 1972 at Methodist Primary School, Brodekwano, then at Local Authority Primary and Middle School, Abrabra, in the Sefwi Wiawso District. He returned to his hometown to complete his basic education in 1982, under the guardianship of his late grandmother, Mad. Adwoa Mansah.
He proceeded to Konongo-Odumase Secondary School, Odumase and then to Kumasi High School, Kumasi where he had his secondary education between 1982 and 1989, and obtained his GCE ‘Ordinary’ Level and GCE ‘Advance’ Level respectively.
Having successfully passed his ‘A’ Level Examinations, Asamoah-Boateng was admitted into the then University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, now KNUST to pursue a Bachelor of Science programme in Physics in 1990. He completed with a Second Class (Lower Division) in Physics in March 1994.
After his National Service at Wesley College, Kumasi, he joined the Ghana Education Service (GES) and worked as a teacher at Agona SDA Senior High School and later at Kumasi High School, Kumasi. His initial intention was to become a professional teacher. As a result, he was admitted to pursue Postgraduate Diploma in Education at University of Cape Coast in 1998. He later returned to KNUST to pursue a Master’s degree in of Science in Environmental Science and completed in 2004. After the completion of the Masters programme, he returned to GES at Kumasi High Senior School, Kumasi. He ran through the ranks and became Principal Superintendent in 2007.
He was appointed Assistant Registrar at the Registrar’s Offices of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in 2008, promoted to Senior Assistant Registrar in 2015, and currently a Deputy Registrar. Over the years, Asamoah-Boateng has worked in the following offices:
- Human Resource Development, 2008-2010, providing general assistance to the Deputy Registrar in the discharge of his duties including processing applications for Appointments and Promotions of Senior Members.
- Registrar’s Office, 2010-2016, providing general assistance to the Registrar including preparing agenda and supporting papers for Council Meetings; and arranging and covering Council meetings.
